Accessibility audit
Accessibility is a mandatory standard for government agencies.
The Australian Government Digital Service Standard (DSS) mandates that all new and existing public-facing services must meet Version 2.0 of the DSS from 1 July 2025 (or seek an exemption from the DTA).
Everyone must have equal access to government services (including information) under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
Agency websites must also meet:
- latest version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) – currently version 2.2
- Australian Government Style Manual standards.
We can help you check whether you website is meeting compliance requirements under the legislation and standards, and create a roadmap to implement required changes.

Our process
Discovery
We’ll meet with stakeholders to capture overarching goals and align on key priorities for this work. We’ll also set the criteria for the audit.
Accessibility audit
We'll assign an accessibility expert in each of the 4 areas to undertake manual audit (and automated, where appropriate) of your website, including a selection of PDF and other files.
Research synthesis
We’ll gather our insights from to gain a clear understanding of what accessibility issues your site is facing and how we can overcome them. We’ll include these insights and recommendations in the audit and assessment report.
Accessibility governance
To ensure your ongoing accessibility, we’ll identify the governance structure and associated roles and responsibilities your organisation needs, covering workflows, business rules, resourcing, training, style guidance and ongoing maintenance.
Monitoring framework
We’ll work with you to set monitoring, measuring and compliance checking processes based on your business needs and resource requirements.
Success metrics
We’ll work out your priorities for improvement and then identify how you can measure success.
Accessibility report
We'll distil our findings into a single report. As part of that report, we'll outline an accessibility roadmap that divides accessibility improvement activities into:
- what you can do now to improve accessibility
- what you can do next in the medium term
- what you can do over the longer term.
